Dear Yemen, stand firm, hold fast!

Amid one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, you are inspiring isolated families and Houthi soldiers to hold on to Jesus.

Rahman was looking for work, and in his vulnerable circumstances was deceived into joining the Houthi army. He sent money home to his wife and family, but didn’t say what he was doing. One day while out on a patrol he was ordered to execute an innocent rural family. They are Christians and listeners to our programmes on shortwave.

Rahman did not want to kill anyone, and with the commander’s gun to his head, he prayed to save the family. Suddenly his Houthi commander shook in pain and collapsed! Rahman told the Christian family to run, but instead the father stepped forward, thanked him and prayed for him. Adding:

“We follow Christ, and we prayed for you. God’s love is here. You are not alone.”

Rahman said he felt something inside him shift. “I want to know this Christ,” he said. The family introduced him to the broadcasts, and Rahman contacted us on WhatsApp. He is now baptized and following Issa, Jesus Christ. He visits the family who introduced him to the One True and Living God, and they are all listening and inspired daily. Thanks to you.
