A biblical devotion to inspire passion for Jesus, and prayers for the nations.
Announcing & Receiving the Good News
This month’s scripture is 1 Corinthians 15:1-11
In possibly the earliest piece of New Testament teaching, the Apostle Paul outlined exactly what is the gospel, the good news, and how it spreads. This is good inspiration for us to engage and pray for media ministry around the world. The good news is Jesus: he lived, he died for our sins according to the Old Testament scriptures, he was buried, he was raised on the third day, and he appeared to many witnesses.
1. Pray for our broadcasters to receive and pass on the good news.
Paul didn’t compose the gospel, he received it from the earliest Christians, and from Christ (v.8). He then delivered it or ‘handed it over’ to the people of Corinth.
Please pray our programme producers everywhere, learn, study, and grow with other Christians, praying and being built up in their own first-hand experience and understanding of Jesus.
May all our programmes be a faithful and irresistible delivery of the news that Jesus is Lord!
2. Pray for listeners to receive the good news and hold firmly.
The majority of our listeners are Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, or from traditional religions. These religions all teach lists of what people must do to be right with the gods. The gospel is not instructions, it is good news: Jesus has saved you already. Trust in him alone!
Please pray that listeners everywhere, hear the good news, receive it gladly, hold onto it firmly, agreeing and growing in conviction. Pray this new faith is established in lives quickly.
Pray that through our broadcasts, Jesus Himself ‘appears’ to many people, and whole communities are transformed.
Always pray, don’t lose heart.
