15 Thai prison inmates recently completed our Bible Discovery Course for listeners, and were baptised in their prison bath!
The FEBC Bible Discovery course in Thailand is primarily an outreach tool and is offered to anyone who contacts the station to find out more about what they’ve heard on the radio and media. Listeners across Thailand are regularly invited to explore the Bible and discover the real Jesus.
These previously Buddhist prisoners in Pathum Thani prison, all chose to follow Jesus Christ after listening to FEBC on the radio and studying the introduction to Jesus and Christianity. They also chose to be baptised together and invited FEBC staff to visit and celebrate. Prison officials welcome Christian input for prisoners of any background, often testifying to the good behaviour of the inmates when they become Christians.
While in Thailand recently, Matt Perry (FEBC New Zealand) visited several churches with the Thai staff and discussed the evangelical relationship between the churches and FEBC. FEBC points people to local churches. Local churches point seekers to FEBC media. Churches encourage seekers and new believers to listen and join the Bible Discovery course. This synergy is healthy, and kingdom focused.
These photos are provided by the prison as no personal cameras or mobile phones are allowed inside.
Thank you for supporting FEBC Thailand, and Where Most Needed International. You are helping create life-changing radio programmes and discipleship materials for listeners who respond.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
Luke 4:18-19
